This feedback pertains to the logic around how points are granted for planting/harvesting spores:
  • It doesn't make sense that individual spore points are granted on-harvest while guild spore points are granted on-plant
  • This logic introduces incentive misalignment where players search for gold soil on which to plant red spores with no concern as to whether or not the spore actually grows and gets harvested since they'll have received 360 individual leaderboard points simply for planting. It also devalues guano and the action of watering/defending spores
  • The argument I've heard in favor of the current logic is "The person who planted the spore spent the money to buy the seeds. If they don't get points, then no one would buy and they would just run around trying to harvest other guild members' spores."
  • If this problem is what the current logic attempts to fix, wouldn't the better solution be to always grant spore points to the planter as opposed to the harvester?
  • Allowing the logic to diverge between how points are granted for individual versus guild leaderboards is also just confusing to understand while always granting points on-harvest is more consistent and easier to grok
