Expiration date for some items in-game

GM Pixels fam!
I have an idea to help with the inflation of certain in-game items, the longevity, and the balance of the economy!
I think most items need an expiration date. I won't mention industry kits and tools in this post because I think this is in the works with a decay system. I think we should consider adding more items to the decay system, like popberries or any crop we farm, Every item can have their own expiration date.. This will add new dynamics to the game that will help move items instead of being stored long-term by whales.
If the whales want to store something for long-time we can have a special storage system that is only obtainable with $PIXEL. Like a Fridge, this does not guaranteed to be able to store for the eternity but for a longer time (like a year)
An addition to this could be a recycling industry. Like fertilizer, we could use rotten items to get other things in exchange. I think it would be interesting to get non-tradable items (to stop the cycle there) and even something equivalent to loot boxes, where you could get a rare item (ideally a non-tradable cosmetic) by burning lots of low-demand items.
This additional sink could be another help to the Taskboard sink. The difference would be that it gives items (ideally non-tradable cosmetic items) instead of coins or $PIXEL.

There comes a certain point where we need to draw the line between a game and reality. For example, three logs are needed to make 1 stick? It should be 1 log makes 3 sticks ! 6 sticks and 24 logs make 1 log decoration? It should be maybe 2 logs and 3 sticks to make a decoration, liberally.
As an actual farmer, there are plenty of ways of making this more realistic, but then , why? We can talk about germination problems, infestations, funguses, blights, companion planting for increased growth, overwatering, seed viability if stored too long, and the list goes on. If plants are planted too close together, you'll get less airflow and increased chance of blights or funguses. Not to mention animals eating your fruit. How much fun do we want to drag away from this game?
Incorrect planting depth. Not every seed that gets planted, grows into a plant. The saying "you reap what you sow" is incorrect. It SHOULD be "you reap what germinates". Some decorative plants have a thick shell that needs to be filed or sanded. I believe it is nasturtiums.
ALSO, not all plants require one universal plot of soil. If you follow 'square foot gardening' technique, in one plot, you can have either :
1 tomato , eggplant or pepper plant
16 carrots
9 beets
4 heads of lettuce
so size of crop determines how many seeds you can plant in one square foot of soil
NOT TO MENTION, everyone walking over the garden is creating soil compaction.
This list goes on. This is something you don't want to make realistic. It's a game. Keep it simple and fun.
If you want to discuss greenhouse gardening, i'd be happy to discuss that also. You won't like that either.
