(I posted it earlier, but it got closed instantly. I'm not sure if it's because there was a copyrighted word or because of how it was structured)
Pet battles could be something similar to a creature battle game, but much simpler and more casual. You could fight against other players or participate in a PvE that affects the game loop. The combat would be turn-based RPG style, with up to 3 players cooperating, and turn order would be based on Speed, Luck (critical hit chance), and Strength (damage multiplier). The actions would be simple: Attack, Block, or Item (maybe using a Pet Treat to heal or other items).
The dungeon could have 2 regular battles + a boss fight. Players would get 2-3 free entries per week, but if they want more, they would need to craft a key using dungeon loot or pay with Pixel. The loot could be progressive: the first fight drops common loot, the second one adds rare loot, and the third could drop rare loot plus a special item requested by the taskboard.
The crafting loop would be important, as players can gather materials from the dungeon + actual materials to craft keys for more entries. The global dungeon loot provides enough materials to craft 0.5 to 2 keys per player, and there's a 33% chance of getting a "Boss Head", an item required by the taskboard.
We could also make the system more complex by adding elements based on pet types, like: Penguin = water, Dragon = fire, Cow = earth. That way, each week the dungeon could be weak to one element or strong against another, encouraging players to use different pets. Additionally, we could allow players to consume or throw different items during battles, further increasing resource usage.
