I would like to propose a mechanic where the coordinates of 'No Man's Lands'—territories with resources contested by guilds—are discovered through effort, be it manual or intellectual, necessitating guilds to explore lands before others. In a Minecraft server I played on, 'Treasure Books' were randomly dropped when leveling skills like fishing or farming. These books contained coordinates of a chest, and upon defeating a horde of monsters guarding it, players could collect random resources. The rarity of the treasure depended on the tier of the book, determined by the skill level at which it dropped. In other words, the higher the skill level, the higher the tier of the treasure book, resulting in greater rewards. This server was named 'Craftlandia,' and the mechanic was referred to as 'Livro do Tesouro' in the native language. If you're interested, you can find more information about it on YouTube.
